When To Get Married in Jamaica
The best months to get married in Jamaica are in July, August and December because the weather is always perfect in those months. Avoid the months of June and November because those are the hurricane months. Avoid also the months of February, March and April because they are the school. vacation months and children would take over the resorts.
Documents Required to get Married in Jamaica
Of course there are documents required for you to get married on foreign soil. You can be married in less than 24 hours after your arrival, provided prior application was made for a marriage licence. No residency is required to get married in Jamaica, but these following documents must be submitted before you get married in Jamaica.
- Original proof of citizenship.
- Original or certified copy of birth certificate which includes fatherโs name.
- Parentโs written consent if under the age of 18.
- Original certificate of divorce if applicable, or certified copy of the death certificate for widow or widower.
- In the case of a name change, certified copies of the documents indicating the same.
- All the above documents MUST be translated into English, and notarized where necessary.
